Resin Bound Surfaces
Resin Bonded – Anti-Skid and Non-Slip Surfaces
Resin Bound Surfaces
Resin bound surfaces and resin bonded surfaces have different characteristics and should not be confused.
Resin Bound aggregates are mixed with resin and a hardening catalyst before being spread and levelled using hand tools. It is usually solid enough to walk on within three hours, and vehicle use is possible the next day.
This is an incredibly durable and attractive surface, with the added bonus that it is also porous, in most cases avoiding the need for the installation of drainage. A full range of colours are available, and gravel can be mixed to create unique effects.
Resin Bonded & Anti-Skid Surfaces
Resin bonded surfaces (unlike resin bound) are not pourous. An adhesive is spread onto the existing surface and a 0-4mm aggregate is scattered over the area.
The advantage of this process is that the texture created has excellent anti skid and non slip properties. This surface is ideally suited for paths, steep domestic driveways and highway use.
